Zinc Aluminum Magnesium L Profile

ShixinDa's Zinc Aluminum Magnesium L Profile are manufactured using high-quality base materials such as Q235B, Q355, and S350GD to form a triple-alloy zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating through a continuous hot-dip galvanizing process. These profiles encompass both equilateral and irregular L-shaped cross-sections, with a comprehensive range of specifications available and support for customization. The product's coating structure is dense and stable; thanks to its unique magnesium-based formulation, it features a core self-repairing capability – enabling the spontaneous formation of a passivation protective film on cut or scratched surfaces, eliminating the need for manual repainting or repair.

ShixinDa supplies Zinc Aluminum Magnesium L Profile manufactured using high-quality structural steels such as Q235B, Q355, and S350GD–S550GD as base materials. These profiles are produced via a continuous hot-dip galvanizing process, during which a triple-alloy (zinc–aluminum–magnesium) coating is applied to the surface of the angle steel substrate, resulting in L-shaped profiles with either equilateral or irregular L-shaped cross-sections. The coating is primarily composed of zinc, with aluminum content ranging from 1.5% to 11% and magnesium content ranging from 0.2% to 3%; certain grades also contain trace amounts of silicon, forming a dense, stable eutectic microstructure.

Differentiated Advantage

Compared to traditional pure zinc GI coatings or aluminum-zinc GL coatings, the Zinc Aluminum Magnesium L-Profile manufactured by ShixinDa Factory leverages magnesium to optimize coating density; after the profile undergoes cutting, drilling, or surface abrading, the active elements within the coating can rapidly form a new passivation protective film on the exposed steel substrate, enabling self-healing at the cut edges. This product is widely applicable in various projects—including building steel structures, photovoltaic mounting systems, highway guardrails, cable trays, communication base stations, and livestock farming facilities—and represents an ideal upgrade material for corrosion-resistant steel structures.

This Zinc Aluminum Magnesium L Profile has received authoritative SGS certification and demonstrates outstanding performance in the neutral salt spray test; its corrosion resistance is 3–15 times greater than that of conventional galvanized products, and its coating hardness significantly exceeds that of traditional galvanized profiles – offering excellent wear and scratch resistance as well as high durability. Additionally, it features superior bending, welding, and stamping capabilities, ensures stable forming performance, and prevents coating delamination. The product complies with the EU RoHS environmental standards, contains no hazardous materials, is fully recyclable, and is environmentally friendly and safe.

core selling point

1.Superior corrosion resistance

Our Zinc Aluminum Magnesium L Profile is SGS certified, with a maximum neutral salt spray test duration of up to 9,248 hours; its corrosion resistance is 3,150 times greater than that of conventional galvanized materials, and its anti-corrosion performance is more than 10 times superior under equivalent coating weight conditions. Multiple performance metrics benchmark against stainless steel, demonstrating outstanding performance in coastal and highly corrosive chemical environments.

2.Incision self-healing

When magnesium in the coating comes into contact with cutting, impact, or scratching, it rapidly reacts with the surrounding environment to form a dense passivation film—comprising zinc hydroxide, basic zinc chloride, and magnesium hydroxide—on the exposed steel surface. This film completely covers the cut surface within a few months, thereby inhibiting the propagation of corrosion without the need for additional manual repainting.

3.High hardness and wear resistance

The coating hardness can reach 140–160 HV – more than twice that of conventional galvanized steel sheets (55–65 HV) – offering excellent scratch and wear resistance; during warehousing, transportation, and on-site installation, the coating is less susceptible to impact damage.

4.Excellent machining performance

Equipped with robust comprehensive machining capabilities—including stretching, stamping, bending, and welding—ensuring that the coating does not peel or delaminate during the manufacturing process; the low-aluminum, low-magnesium formulation offers superior flexibility, enabling it to meet a wide range of complex forming requirements and be compatible with various field application processes.

5.Eco-friendly and recyclable

ShixinDa Zinc Aluminum Magnesium L Profile comply with the EU RoHS environmental protection standard; they contain no harmful substances such as hexavalent chromium, have a low environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle, support 100% recycling and reuse, and meet the green material selection requirements for engineering projects.

6.High overall cost-effectiveness

The performance is benchmarked against stainless steel, yet the procurement cost is significantly lower than that of stainless steel materials; under equivalent corrosion protection design requirements, the coating weight can be optimally adjusted to effectively control material costs for the project, providing a highly reliable and cost-effective corrosion protection solution for the engineering application.

Material and Corrosion Prevention Mechanism

The Shixinda zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy coating is primarily composed of zinc, with aluminum and magnesium content ranging from 1.5% to 8%, and the magnesium content being ≥0.2%. Utilizing a mature continuous hot-dip galvanizing process, the zinc, aluminum, and magnesium metals form a dense eutectic microstructure on the surface of the steel substrate, providing dual corrosion protection: ① Zinc acts as a sacrificial anode, corroding preferentially to protect the underlying steel substrate; ② Aluminum and magnesium form a dense oxide film that serves as a physical barrier against corrosive agents such as water vapor and salt spray; magnesium further enhances the density of this protective film, enabling it to rapidly regenerate even when localized areas of the coating are damaged.

Post-Maintenance User Guide

Regular inspection: For general environments, a comprehensive annual inspection is recommended; for coastal or chemical corrosion environments, inspections should be conducted every six months. Focus on examining surface scratches, dents, or deformations on the profiles; assess the risk of galvanic corrosion at interfaces between dissimilar metals; verify the integrity of coatings at connection joints and welded areas; and take immediate corrective action if any severe damage is detected.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Regularly remove dust, dirt, and corrosive deposits from the surface; use clean water combined with a neutral detergent, along with a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush for cleaning. Do not use steel wire brushes, scouring pads, or other hard abrasives to scrape the coating; for stubborn stains, use a specialized metal cleaning solution; after cleaning, rinse thoroughly with water and allow the surface to dry.

Damage repair: For minor scratches, the material's self-healing capability eliminates the need for additional treatment; for minor corrosion, apply a specialized corrosion inhibitor to halt the progression of corrosion; for severe damage, follow this procedure: sanding → sandblasting → applying an appropriate cold-dip galvanized aluminum-magnesium repair paint formulated for zinc-aluminum-magnesium systems. For cut or drilled surfaces, it is recommended to apply the ShixinDa compatible specialized zinc-aluminum-magnesium repair paint immediately; the repair paint must be compatible with the existing coating system.

Construction Phase Protection: The installation phase is a high-risk period for coating damage; it is strictly prohibited to step on the profiles or to stack tools or corrosive liquids on them. During handling and transportation, use soft padding for protection; direct dragging or friction with steel wire ropes or iron hooks is strictly forbidden. For cutting operations, prefer laser or waterjet cutting techniques to minimize coating detachment caused by mechanical shearing; for welding, use MIG welding with Ar/CO₂ shielding gas; upon completion of welding, apply repair paint promptly.
