ShixinDa's China Hot dip Galvanized L Profile is manufactured using high-quality angle steel as the base material, which is then treated with a hot-dip galvanizing process. This product combines the advantages of L-shaped steel structures with the corrosion-resistant and rust-preventing properties of the galvanized coating, offering excellent corrosion resistance and resistance to rusting, thereby effectively extending the service life of the components. The product's cross-sectional design ensures uniform stress distribution and superior bending performance, making it ideal for cutting, drilling, welding, and bolted assembly – resulting in efficient and convenient installation.
ShixinDa Factory supplies Hot dip Galvanized L Profile profiles with a comprehensive range of specifications and consistent dimensional accuracy, making them ideal for outdoor applications such as steel structural supports, photovoltaic mounting systems, guardrail frames, equipment bases, and factory ancillary components operating in humid or open-air environments. ShixinDa strictly controls the quality of its galvanizing process to ensure uniform coating thickness and strong adhesion; the company maintains ample stock availability and offers custom-length fabrication services, eliminating the need for additional corrosion protection treatments and thereby reducing subsequent maintenance costs. These profiles represent an excellent cost-effective choice for outdoor engineering and corrosion protection projects.
Material Information
The Hot dip Galvanized L Profile utilizes high-quality carbon structural steel or low-alloy high-strength structural steel as its base material – primarily Q235 or Q345 – with a stable steel composition ratio and properly controlled levels of elements such as carbon, manganese, and silicon, ensuring excellent weldability and plasticity. After the profile base material is hot-rolled into an L-shaped cross-section, it undergoes a proven hot-dip galvanizing process: the steel is immersed in molten zinc at a temperature of 450–470°C, where a galvanic reaction between iron and zinc occurs, forming a composite protective coating consisting of an iron-zinc alloy layer and a pure zinc layer. The zinc coating thickness for Shixinda products can reach 120–275 g/m², and the coating is dense and robust. Leveraging the cathodic protection properties of the zinc layer as a sacrificial anode, even in the event of minor localized damage to the coating, the zinc layer will corrode preferentially, thereby protecting the underlying steel substrate from rusting. Compared to conventional painted steel products, this offers significantly enhanced corrosion resistance and is suitable for a wide range of outdoor and humid operating environments.
Installation and Maintenance
Usage Guidelines
1. Before installation, verify the Shixinda profile specifications and inspect the galvanized coating; for any areas of exposed steel resulting from transportation impacts or cutting, apply zinc-rich primer or zinc powder coating promptly for repair, ensuring the integrity of the corrosion protection layer.
2. Gas-shielded welding shall be preferred; after welding, weld slag shall be removed, and the weld seams as well as areas subjected to thermal damage shall be subjected to zinc spraying or application of zinc-rich paint for zinc coating to restore their corrosion resistance.
3. For cutting and drilling operations, cold working methods such as sawing or punching shall be preferred; if flame cutting is unavoidable, the cut surface must be subjected to zinc coating for protection.
4. When assembling dissimilar metals such as copper or stainless steel, install an insulating gasket to prevent galvanic corrosion and mitigate the accelerated wear of the coating.
5. Outdoor installation allows rainwater to naturally flush the surface, preventing the long-term accumulation of mud and standing water and reducing the risk of localized corrosion.
Maintenance Recommendations
1. It is recommended to conduct an annual visual inspection, focusing on checking joint gaps and areas prone to water accumulation on Hot-dip Galvanized L Profiles; white rust on the surface is a normal oxidation phenomenon for galvanized materials and can be removed with a soft brush; however, the presence of red rust indicates exposed steel substrate, which must be repaired and protected immediately.
2. Minor scratches require no special treatment; in humid environments, the galvanized layer forms a protective layer of basic zinc carbonate, which provides self-sealing protection.
3. For storing ShixinDa galvanized L-shaped steel products, a well-ventilated and dry storage area should be used; the materials should be placed on elevated racks above the ground and kept away from standing water or acidic/alkaline substances to prevent the formation of extensive white rust.
