Hot dip Galvanized H Beam

This Hot dip Galvanized H Beam is an upgraded and optimized corrosion-resistant structural profile by Shixinda manufacturer based on the ordinary national standard H-beam. It is specifically developed for outdoor, humid, highly corrosive, and long-term exposed steel structure scenarios. The product is made from mature hot-rolled and welded H-beams as the base material, covering a full range of specifications including HN narrow flange, HM medium flange, and HW wide flange. While retaining the mechanical structure advantages of the original H-beam, it solves the industry pain points of bare steel being prone to oxidation, rusting, and being unsuitable for damp environments through professional anti-corrosion processes.

Compared to ordinary black material H-beams, the Hot Dip Galvanized H Beams supplied by Shixinda factory do not require secondary rust removal and painting for anti-corrosion after on-site installation. They are ready for long-term rust prevention, water vapor resistance, and salt spray resistance upon leaving the factory, significantly simplifying on-site construction procedures and shortening project schedules.

The overall component strength, bending stability, and structural load-bearing capacity remain consistent with the base material. The anti-corrosion layer does not affect normal deep processing such as welding, drilling, and cutting.

With its comprehensive advantages of weather resistance, maintenance-free, and high adaptability, it is widely used in outdoor steel structure frameworks, photovoltaic heavy-duty supports, municipal bridge frameworks, coastal infrastructure, factory outdoor steel structures, and overseas high-corrosion standard projects. It is the preferred upgraded profile for outdoor heavy-load steel structures.

Product Core Advantages

1. Excellent mechanical properties: The flange is parallel and of uniform thickness, providing bidirectional resistance to bending, with a 5% to 10% higher bearing capacity compared to I-beams; under the same load, the self-weight is 15% to 20% lighter than traditional steel structures, reducing the cost of the foundation.

2. Long-lasting corrosion prevention and maintenance-free: If the zinc layer is damaged, the anode protection base material can be sacrificed. Suitable for ports, chemical plants, and coastal areas with high corrosion environments, significantly reducing the cost of post-treatment by over 60%.

3. Convenient construction: The flange is flat, the connection by bolts or welding is simple, and the processing, drilling, and cutting are highly compatible.

4. Low overall cost: One-time galvanization for lifetime protection. Compared to ordinary spray-painted steel structures, the total life cycle cost is lower.

Galvanized H-beams vs. Ordinary Black-Coated H-beams: Key Differences

1. Surface Treatment and Corrosion Resistance (The Major Difference)

Ordinary H-beams (black material / bare H-beams): The surface is rolled oxide scale, without a rust-resistant layer. Left exposed in the open air, they will rust very quickly. Under the influence of rain, seaside salt fog, and chemical environments, the rusting speed is extremely fast. Before use, additional anti-corrosion measures are required: rust removal + primer + topcoat. Regular maintenance involves repainting every 2–5 years.

Hot-dip Galvanized H-beams: The entire steel is immersed in zinc at high temperature, forming a 85–120μm zinc-iron alloy protective layer. The metallurgical bond is strong and does not easily peel off. With sacrificial anode protection, the damaged areas will not rust rapidly; they can be maintained without repeated painting for over a decade in outdoor, coastal, and photovoltaic projects, saving the cost of repeated painting.

2. Appearance Color

Ordinary H-beams: Blackish-gray oxide scale, rough, and the cutting surface is prone to rust;

Galvanized H-beams: Silver-gray metal zinc layer, with zinc granules on the surface, clean and tidy.

3. Production Cost and Unit Price

Ordinary H-beams: Only the steel base price is considered, the purchase unit price is low; but additional costs for anti-corrosion construction, labor, and paint are incurred.

Galvanized H-beams: An additional galvanizing processing fee is incurred, resulting in a higher price per ton; once processed, they provide lifelong anti-corrosion protection, and the comprehensive cost over the entire life cycle is lower.

4. Application Areas

Ordinary H-beams

Indoor dry workshops, short-term temporary steel structures, indoor equipment supports, and buildings that will undergo heavy fireproof and anti-corrosion painting later.

Galvanized H-beams

Photovoltaic supports, outdoor steel structures, coastal projects, municipal guardrails, chemical platforms, outdoor billboards, and overseas outdoor projects.

5. Storage Conditions

Ordinary H-beams: Warehouses with rain and moisture protection, exposed for one week will result in widespread rusting;

Galvanized H-beams: Can be stored outdoors for a long time without rusting.
